Nothing beats a dog’s compassionate soul when it comes to caring for those in need. These adorable creatures appear to have been created with the intent of bringing comfort to others. An injured deer was recently nursed back to health by a selfless puppy who sat next to her and comforted her until aid arrived.

Pat Pollifrone, a Nashville-based musician, shared the now-famous story online, and it quickly went viral. His pet puppy, Zoey, was the one who melted people’s hearts with his generosity. Pat’s ranch in Cheatham County, Tennessee, apparently lost an ailing deer, but he went in to save the helpless critter.

On Instagram, the musician wrote, “I found this little sweetie yesterday in the yard and took her back in the woods.” “When I got out of bed this morning, she was lying on the driveway. So it appears that we now have a deer.”

The fact that she kept returning led Pat to believe that the wild animal was in distress and that she was looking for a safe haven. And it was as though the adorable little creature was not only hungry, but also suffering from a bad eye ailment. So he decided to assist her. He also frequently uploaded footage of his visitor, Bambi, who immediately became friends with his canine companion, Zoey.

“Just helping the animal get on her feet,” Pat posted on Instagram. She’s been drinking goat milk and going around the yard today, and the infection in her eye is much better now that she’s pulled several ticks.” The one with the compassionate Zoey cuddling with his newest friend, though, was the cutest of his posts. Pat described the amazing scene, “Words can’t capture this cuteness.”

The artist also said that he sought assistance from some wildlife rescue organizations but was denied down for a variety of reasons. Pat, on the other hand, is adamant about caring for the deer for as long as it takes. “So we’ll keep caring for the infant till mama returns,” he wrote. “She’s doing SO MUCH BETTER now!… Taking goat milk has cleared up her eye problem, and the ticks have left her alone.”
